COVID-19 has hit economies worldwide very badly and many countries are facing lockdown.  Dubai has also been bearing the brunt of the global pandemic.  Dubai, a popular business hub facilitating free movement of people, trade and money all across the globe is also witnessing disruptions due to closure of logistics, businesses, flights etc. The crash in global oil prices has made situation somewhat worse but vibrant economies are optimistic that they will recover once the life post COVID-19 begins. Comprehensive plans are being prepared by the government officials to help different sectors once the economies open up.

Umar Farooq Zahoor At Home in Lockdown 2020

UmarFarooq Zahoor, one of the most prominent businessman in Dubai , who has investments across multiple sectors like Oil, Gas, Energy, Power, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Hospitality in many countries is hopeful that once the phase is over, things will settle down though with some delay, life will be back to normal.  He used to be always on the move, a globetrotter managing his businesses across other countries, and vigilant to see opportunities in the emerging markets, is also confined and staying indoors, complying with the government’s stay-home and social-distancing norms.

With his great business acumen, knowledge and leadership qualities, Mr. Umar Farooq Zahoor, despite the crisis the pandemic has triggered, sees life and its challenges through the prisms of positivity. He stays in touch with key people of his team through online platforms, keeps himself updated. Even though, many people are finding it difficult to adjust to the changes, Mr. Zahoor remains unfazed and moving ahead with the same zeal and enthusiasm. He thinks that as far as Dubai and UAE are concerned, the citizens there are much ahead than people from many other places around the world in adjusting themselves in this new way of life. He is of the opinion that the new norms of social distancing, wearing medical masks, sanitizing hands as instructed by the concerned authorities will be there to stay.

According to him, his biggest source of encouragement is His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai. He is a real visionary who had the foresightedness to see that people may get into a situation where they may be required to work differently from the way people have been working before the Coronavirus pandemic tightened its grip.

Sheikh Umar Farooq Zahoor is of the firm belief that His Highness with his dedication towards his people, will come out with plans to make life better for all. Dubai has the reputation for witnessing one of the highest recovery rates from COVID-19 due to high medical standards throughout the world.

A renowned philanthropist, Umar Farooq Zahoor who has been actively involved with many philanthropic organizations and his commitment to CSR i.e., corporate social responsibility, has taken the opportunity to help people in distress. He is personally overlooking the welfare of many migrant workers who have lost their jobs and are facing difficulties in surviving the pandemic.
